All
The venue for casting on Sunday - and for the rest of the winter - is behind the Friary Press at Dorchester.
To get to it take the A35 from Dorchester towards Honiton/Bridport about a mile from the Monkeys Jump Roundabout (McDonalds) on the right is a large white building with a communications mast in the grounds - this is the Friary Press. The entrance to the field is about 50 yards after the entrance to the Press on the way to Honiton just before a cross roads. When coming from Honiton the field is approximately 2.5 miles from Dorchester Town Centre. A casting sign will be by the entrance to the field.
For those who have breakfast at the Transport Cafe in the Top O' Town carpark in Dorchester will need to turn right on exiting the car park then follow the road straight to the field.
The weather forecast at present for Sunday gives an easterly wind with showers during the morning, so pack those waterproofs just in case.
I will also have details of the team competition in Cornwall on Sunday 13 November, it looks like we may have enough volunteers to send two teams, thanks for the response.
For those more concerned with the condition of the field will find that it is reasonably flat and covered in straw stubble.
For the boat anglers amongst you will be pleased to hear that the English squad came second in the World Championships - We went into the last day on equal points to the Italians and French (Didn't that happen at the World Casting Championships too) only to be beaten by the Italians. who had a more favourable boat draw that day.

cheers for the reply, I will be coming from Gloucester, so it's a bit of a trek, probably head past your neck of the woods past warminster etc. |

Enjoyed the day, Tony. I still find it hard to believe the distances that the guys were hitting. I for one would recommend anyone that is thinking about distance casting to go along to one of the meets, everyone was very friendly and helpful with loads of good tips, so lots to practice and remember. Best spend some time over the field me thinks.! |
