Hello all, in a large community it is necessary to have guide lines / rules etc to keep the community running smoothly and for most the idea of this would be common sense.
Here at www.sea-fishing.org forum rules were put inplace back in 2004 as follows...
" Posted: Sun Dec 19, 2004 1:26 pm Post subject: Forum Rules
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Rules:
While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature . Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed. While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules. Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. You cannot post any affiliate or referral links to other websites, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal. Please do spam links to other websites or have links in your Signatures etc, if anyone is interested in a reciprocal link please add the link in the Reciprocal Partners section.
If rules get broken, I have to take action, reasonable discussion is fine but many would have read post that clearly break our rules and have been removed.
Cheers all
