Hi fishface, I was once fishing Hurst Shingle Bank and had a really great knock on the rod, I had done a poor pendulum cast and the trace flew just about 20 yards so I thought oh well I`ll give it a go there. anyway I didnt get anymore knocks on the rod since the first bite so I decided to reel in........ well I thought I was snagged at first but them managed to reel in but it felt like I was dragging a rock to be honest :? anyway I had the so called rock about to break the surf when I had another really good bite which was odd and I couldnt really make out what I had on the end at that point as now I could feel something now trying to swim off???? :? , I carried on reeling in to find a massive lobster on the end  that was my first and last lobster which was captured no more than 20 yards out.
Cheers

Lol,poor old pinchy (al la Homer Simpson).Welcome to the site and well done on one of our more unusual catches to date.Lobster is my favourite shellfish dish,as and when I get to actually eat one that is and i'm sure 'pinchy' enjoyed the sauce as much as you did.I'll give the tea a miss for a while then..... |

Firstly congratulations on catching the lobster ... 8O
Talking unusual catches, many years ago whilst fishing on my uncle's boat a few miles out in the English Channel off Deal, I had a struggle to reel in a heavy catch.
At first I thought was going to be a large Edible Crab.... only to find a Sea Anemone had taken my bait..... but it was attacked to a large rock ... LOL.
Good Luckin the future
