Hope to night fish somewhere around there next Friday - anywhere near there recommended?

I need to be near car too....

Any tips on which bait I should take?

Cheers,

Tim

Thanks Mick - I'm not local no (I'm from near Dungeness) - and what you say about bad reports is understandable - exactly what I need to hear before I night fish somewhere new - thanks.

Canvey sounds good for me - have you (or has anyone else) any suggestions for where to go for night fishing there?

Again, I would like somewhere near my car if possible...

Cheers,
Tim

hi tim you can fish ( the point ) ( ladworth cafe) ( hole haven) but if i was you i would stay south of the river there must be loads of great marks where you come from i often go down to deal to fish the beach

good luck

Hi Tim ,
I must agree with Mick on both counts , Tilbury can be dodgy at night , which is a shame as it can fish well. Marks south of the Thames are a better bet than Canvey at the moment.

Hi Mick and Kembo,

Thanks for your help. Tilbury DID look good, so it's a shame that your mention of bad stories has put me off, but I think I'll try the Labworth Cafe/Point areas at Canvey for the night.

Of course, I know what you're saying about there being better marks south of the Thames (I live 5 mins from Dungeness), but I enjoy different places from time to time and I've never fished that area before - that's always an attraction for me... Daft perhaps?

Cheers,
Tim

Take me to your leader

what a load of ball Tilbury is safe we fished the other night with no problem at the worlds end (top of the road from the dock gate) the onlt trouble you may fine is when you loss a bit of gear (none to date) give it ago we have 10 nice size ells, 5 small bass .

get a life mate we are all big boys if you see DANGER you get out the way or you use you mobile, to say Tilbury is unsafe is silly you stand more chance of being done at the point if you move away from the house's and round towards the boat club.
So please do not put people off comeing this side of the water.

thats very easy to say when you fish with mates and you know the area
know body is puting any one of if you read the thread you will see HE IS coming over to canvey and now you are trying to put him of saying the point is not safe when was the last time you fished some where new on your own 70 miles from home a mobile dont help when a gang of toerags want your fishing tackle to flog for drugs i think you best get in the real world
best to be safe than sorry

Gentlemen, gentlemen...

Basildon Mick is right, I am fishing alone, and like anyone with a brain would always want to find out what is safe and what is not beforehand. Now I'm not put off the Tilbury (World's End mark) at all, but can see it would be a safer option to fish with others there, the same goes for The Point at Canvey.

Now I always try and use my common sense wherever I go, but I have to say that I had my worst - and most worrying - experience somewhere where there were a lot of people and it was well lit...

Fishing alone is always a risk if you don't know the area - I'm sure we've all heard stories of nicked gear (or worse), and it can happen anywhere at night - I'm just trying to reduce that risk.

Tight lines guys - and thanks
Tim
