Advice on Fishing Rod

can anyone help i own a ron thompson accellorator but find it too stiff to get any great distance. can anyone rocomend the best rod for getting a better cast. could it be the reel i use a sports mag 6500 ct :?

If your rod is too stiff to get any great distance you could just increase the weight of your leads. Try this before buying a new rod as I know a couple of people who own the same rod and are quite happy with it. More bendy rods are harder to bring in the big fish :lol: we can only hope :wink:

the rod you have is very capable of big distances, the reel you are using is fine. what you may need to look at is your casting style.

try and get hold of a casting instructor to have a look at your style of casting, maybe it is not suited for the rod you are using. failing that try and get along to a casting comp. you can gain loads of tips for helping your casting.

it sounds to me like you are not getting the full use of the rod. in order for a rod to work properly, you need to compress the rod, in order to get the most out of it. i think a few pointers are needed to get you compressing the rod.
