Berkley Whiplash Pro its not cheap but probably the best.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BERKLEY-WHIPLASH-PRO-30LB-BULK-1970yds-FISHING-BRAID_W0QQitemZ250171442558QQihZ015QQcategoryZ62154QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You can find spools for around £15

Sorry, what is the difference between between braid and say mono line...

What are the advantages / disadvantages?

I use ron thomsons cable braid, not the cheapest on the market but my own personal opinion the best. The difference between mono and braid is, braid is much thiner lb for lb therefore has less resistance against water so that you can reduce your weight on the end of your tackle, braid has no stretch so bit indication is better. Last but not least you can put a greater length of line on your spool. I use it for baot and shore fishing but wouldn't suggest it for casting with a multiplier. Hope this helps.

SPIDERWIRE............Image........I have held my boat against the tide whilst snagged on a whitby wreck at 250 Ft, did not want to cut it and lose that much and it would not break (50Lb)......................in the end it turned out to be a conger,............I KID YOU NOT !!!!!
