A local was kind enough to give us some ragworm he had dug up but never explained how you put them on the hook, we didn't ask either. Please can someone explain how you put rag on a hook and how it should be presented? He (the local) said a float line set at 4 feet just off the rocks should land a 4lb wrasse, what's the best bait for wrasse?
I am off to St Abbs again on Sunday so any help is much appreciated.
Oh while I am here, Mackerel, we bought some mackerel from tesco, sliced it up but not sure if we hooked it up right, if anyone could tell me how I am supposed to present mackerel then that too would be great.
I know they are simple things but to watch my neice pull 6 coallies out in in one go when we didn't land 6 all day ....... need I say more ..... not that I want to spend my day pulling out coallies.
Cheers guys |

Hiya
Ok , Ragworm
Feed them onto the hook, head first, round the bend of the hook and up and over the shank and knot
Leave the sharp bit of the hook exposed
As for Maccie baits, read Rockets Thread (Click Here) |

Thanks for that mate, I looked at the link for maccies but that just confuses me even more I'm afraid. It's unlikely anyhting with a gob big enough to take one side of a maccie will be in the water where we fish, am I correct to assume the fillet can be cut into thinner strips and hooked in the same fashion?
