ME AND SOME LADS GOING TO RAME HEAD SAT EVENING, SHOULD BE GOOD ON FLOAT AND ON BOTTOM AT DUSK. BIG WRASSE TO CRAB ON BOTTOM, MACKEREL AND GARS ON FLOAT FISHED MACKEREL STRIPS. AT DUSK CONGER TO WHOLE SQUID AND MACKEREL FLAPPER. EVEN GOT A COUPLE OF TRIGGERS THERE LAST SUMMER.BASS SHOULD BE ABOUT AS WELL, HELL OF A WALK BACK UP THOUGH. |

Slapton absolutely full of mackarel. Fished Wembury a lot recently but showing nothing. Waiting for the bass to come into Wembury, Slapton, Heybrook, Seasons point apparently is very good but not been there myself.
Rame is very good for all sorts but like th previous poster said, its a hell of a yomp back up so travel light!!
To be honest last summer I caught shed loads of bass off the Hoe in front of the Chinese restaurant.
Let us know how you get on.

Funny because i have been hearing bad things about how Rame is fishing, i fished there a billion times when i was growing up and never got more than wrasse, pollack, more wrasse, dogfish and even more wrasse.
Interesting about the bass in front of the chinese on the hoe - i assume you are talking about west hoe pier which again i fished a lot when growing up. Years ago my mate had a 10lb bass on the bottom at west hoe.
I can vouch for slapton, i was there last weekend and it was quite productive for the macky, some nice large shoals.
cheers

| Yeah West Hoe. I have actually just come back from taking the dog for a walk and ran into a guy I know who goes down there quite a bit with his son and I don't have any reason not to beleive him, but he told me that this week they had a conger, a ray, loads of Mack and a lobster! Now I know you can get Ray and Conger off there so like I say, no reason not to believe him. |

Fantastic to hear that west hoe is fishing OK, i think ir got a bit fished out at one stage as it really went bad. I fish mountbatten a lot when i am down and it never fails to produce, however the bottom is quite snaggy and you can loose a rig ever third cast.
cheers

Yeah I know what you mean. To be honest all I have ever had off there is Doggies and small pout but not fished it at summer and not fished it that much full stop.
I'd like to give it a good session one time soon. Give me a shout next time you're going maybe? |

I had a 5lb thornie off west hoe on 9/6/07 on rag and squid. you have to cast onto a sandbank to get them though. funny thing is my dad and i caught a couple of whiting when it got dark :? . can not wait for the weather to get better so i can go to places like sharkham head and start point for the huss. |
