First time at Holiwell Point eve of 12/5. Strong westerly and only had frozen squid, herring and black lug as bait. Caught nothing, did'nt even have any knocks. I'm wondering if I was in the wrong place - about 200 yards in from where the concrets sea wall starts going towards Bradwell. Is it better to get nearer the river ?
Any advise would be welcome.

Hi, were you right round facing the mud flats ?
Use the gate by Holliwell house, that is further up river. |

Yeah sounds like you were Deal Hall way and not actually Holliwell Pt. If coming up from Burnham direction you need to turn right where the road narrows by a house ( barn in front and small wall at side of road ). This will be about three or four ? or so miles up from Burnham church. |

Beehive you probably did fish past Holliwell point, my Imray chart shows the point is actually a concrete pill box with a small beach inlet next to it about 500 yards before the wall turns towards Bradwell, as the guys said as you come to the end of Marsh end road do a right towards holiwell farm. Use your key for the gate and go straight down to the wall most of the deeper water marks are to your right as you get there, 2 prominent corners to the right opposite the church on Foulness. Herring with king rag might do the trick. |

Tks all, - I see where I've gone wrong. Know the entrance you all mention and will try it next time I go, probably 2 weeks time. Will send another report then. Maybe it was my eagerness to try the new key !
Good luck to y'all in meantime.
