Hi Guys,
I'm off down to the Isle-o-wight in three weeks to East Cowes, although I have fished there before any suggestions on those secret spots?, I like the beach/pier and spinning and any part of the island will do, cheers.

Hi Camel.
heaps of good spots all over the island but one of my favourite is yarmouth pier - always gonna catch something there!
Great spot for smoothies at night, along with the chance of a good Bass (i have even seen conger caught there)
During the day fish light for pollack, mackeral, gars, bass, eels, gurnard.
A great way to have fun is to fish on a light spinning rod with a nice wriggly ragworm down between the piles (either on a float or with a small sinker.) Last time i did this i had a ball on small pollack and Bass - all returned but great fun.
Cheers. |

Hi matey,
I went to the isle of wight this time last year and went to fish at fort victoria outside the aquarium, good fishing there for bass, mackeral, rays etc. Also try on the beach along sndown and shanklin as that spot has been in the sea angler magazine recently with the locals bigging it up!
I didn't fish there but i went on to shanklin pier and watched the locals fishing and they were having some good sport on light tackle with the garfish and mackeral.

I wish I were coming with you, however, these are two quite informative web sites down here in the beautiful south: Go to:- VISIT SOLENT GUIDE (this is a link but I cant colour it for some strange reason) then click on beaches then all beaches and a map will come up. On the map, click on the Isle of Wight and that will take you to another web site all about the Island - let me know what you think m8 |

hi camel, madfisher and raymondo, have both given you spot on advice, but if you come over here. you really cant miss out on the ray fishing at chale bay, it is supurb as long as you hit it right. try fishing 1hr before dark and in to darkness, use ammo sandeels. and when you go down steps head left. nobby. |
