Just read an article about these,they are called the Crosscast X,are around the £100 mark(both sizes-5000 and 5500)seem to have good line capacity etc. so would lend themselves to beach work as well.
I think the spools are alloy but this should not be a problem if washed down well after use as I do with my Opus reels,no corrosion as yet on these.
Will be looking out for these in our local dealer so as to handle one and if so will post again with any further comments on its build quality.
