That's what it's like at the moment mate - same for us who live here - one school bass between us in 4 hour evening sesh on Saturday night. We are trying again to-morrow night at the Coastguard Station as the water is deeper there but do not expect much. It was the same last year - almost nothing showing through most of Feb and March.
Tp be honest mate I would not waste yer petrol- leave it out 'til April. If Sean and I do find anything worth writing about in the next few weeks I will post it so you can have a go yerself.
Cheers from the famous Eccles

OK Skilling, I do not fish Hayling at low tide except at neaps, there are then two spots worth a try: The lifeboat station and gunner point because there is deep water there where the fish can hang around while waiting for the tide to come back up. If you try these spots at or near spring tides, the currents are usually so strong that they are unfishable. I can't think of anywhere else I would bother with at low water all though some folk reckon that the funfair will produce.

Neap tide is when the sun's gravity is pulling the ocean water in one direction and the moon's gravity is pulling the water in another direction hence the water does not go up and down much. Spring tide is when both the sun and the moon are pulling in the same direction so the water comes up a long way and goes down a long way. Thus neap tides at Hayling are usually about 12 ft up and only down to 6 ft. Whereas spring tide is often 17 ft up and all the way down to less than 3 ft. Obviously, when there are spring tides, the water will be going in and out of Chichester Harbour and Langstone Harbour at a hell of a rate - sometimes 6 knots which is really fast walking pace.
Hi Mesmo could see a couple of guys tonight near Eastoke corner, were you one of them? You couldn't miss us - Big Sean decide to have one of his beach fires again. (LOL) But it was all a waste of time - just one pin whiting between the two of us. I think we will now leave it out until April and do gardening instead - got to get my soft fruit well prepared and sort out the green house.

Hard luck Fishcake, don't say I didn't tell you mate! Best thing to do now is leave it out 'til April although I suppose we might see some activity if we had another storm. As long as this high pressure weather lasts though, you might as well go to the chippy if you want to see fish.
