Hello all. By way of introduction, I've lived here for three years now and stubbornly stuck with coarse fishing that whole time. Yesterday I finally borrowed a friends tackle, clambered over some rocks on the west coast and half an hour later, landed a 3lb bass - it ended up on our bbq.
Anyway I can't believe I've let myself miss out on this stuff, I am truly hooked now and want to get my own, good quality gear. I already have a Shimano Saragosa reel for spinning but need a spinning rod to pair it up with. Now I say spinning because that's what I was doing yesterday but I suppose I want something that is versatile to begin with. I was looking at the Greys BZE - also their Sea Spin rod, which seems lighter. One of the things that struck me yesterday is how tired I felt after a couple of hours, so I'm wondering if this would be better. The Sea Spin is 11' and the BZE is 11'9"
Does anybody own either of these or can offer me any other advice? Budget is £150, most of the fishing here will be off rocks, seawalls etc. (no beachcasting)
Open to all ideas and many thanks in advance |

there is a series of videos on youtube that has henry gilby in in the first one he talks about tackle as for the tackle you have mentioned i dont know about sorry but you would be best talking to your local dealer who will deffinately put you in the right direction but the most important rule as you will know being a coarse angler is ballanced gear so you can keep casting all day long sorry i cant be more help to you good luck |

The longer rods give better distance and control but for long sessions a shorter 8-10 footer would be better. The Mike Ladle range will be in your price band so give Veals tackle a look or Alderney angling will point you in the right direction. |

Thanks for the input chaps. Went for a Greys Bze and a 9' Teklon Concept in the end. Will post up when I've had a chance to use them |
