Is the fylde coast the worst place to fish on the british isles. It just seems to me that everywhere else seems to get a better deal thant we do.Ive spoke to quite a few anglers and they feel the same way.is it because there is not a great depth to fylde coast beaches i dont know but everywhere like scotland, wales, south coast and especially east coast always seem to fish better. |

Fylde coast is no better or worse than any other coast. You must remember that each coast has different topography. Having shallow beaches and sandbanks we get mostly flatties, whitting, doggies, eels and suchlike. Whereas Wales have deep water and rocky outcrops similar to those found in Scotland and therefor a different habitat for other species such as red cod inamongst the kelp and pollack and coalies etc. My PB Plaice came from Conwy estuary @ 4lb. Find out whats available and the target them with rigs to suit.

I have to agree with Rabbi2's comments mate, try fishing low water as well as high you will be surprised what difference it can make but be carefull of the gullies as the tide floods. Make sure you do a recce in daylight if you are unsure of the beach.
happy Fishing
