hiya,

i normally fish that spot but have not for a month or so, i have been fishing at west bay just west of that location with little result.

do you fish this location regulary? it can be fruitfull at times and provide a lot of fun but winds etc can be harsh!!!!!

i am a ex portlander but now live approx 40 mins drive away and fish either that location or chesil west bay as first two choices, we have tried west bexington too and weymouth on nights when shelter is required but not impressed at all with that

HI, i went on a bit of a recce to Ringstead last week, there a car park about 50Metres from beach which is accessed by a slip way. No sign of a pay and display machine!

Haven't fished it myself yet but intend to soon. Could get a bit busy during summer as theres a caravan aprk right buy, plus its just off the South Coast Path.

Seen a couple of posts on here about fishing there so have a look, access is down a narrow road, try not too miss the sign to Ringstead beach, if you enter the national trust car park you've gone about 100 metres too far!

You do have to pay to park at Ringstead in the summer. You pay at the snack/gift kiosk. As with just about every mark.......the further you walk, the better the fishing.

went out taking some pics for my site, talked to a chap at the Cove pm today, he'd caught nothing, went to Abbotsbury chap leaving said nothing being caught, same at Cogden. Ended up from 4 to 8pm on Eaast Pier at West bay... 10 pout, 1 small flounder, 5 rockling and a dogfish.
On a brighter note, a lad at West Bay said a mackerel had been caught there yesterday from the pier.

seems quiet in quite a few place.

I fished weymouth pier last weekend, plenty of small whiting but nothing else until i added a starlight to my hook length, this seemed to encourage the doggies as a flurry of them took mackerel and squid baits!
