I cant believe no one has replied to you nobby.
There are hundreds of places to be in with a chance of catching cod/bass especially in kent, theres Dungy, Deal, Dover breakwater, Admiralty Pier, I could go on and on but its not just about the location, you need to make sure you have the right bait, tackle and conditions.
Keep your eyes out for the fishing reports its probably the best place to start and just get out there and give it a go mate.
Good luck Nobby

With regards to Admiralty Pier in Dover.
Rocket and I was fishing in Dover a few weeks ago.
We got talking to some local anglers who informed us that Admiralty Pier was a ' no-no ' as far as serious angling was concerned.
It seems it is mainly inhabited by ' our ethnic friends ' who seem more intent on chatting to each other than fishing.
They said tangles were commonplace and in the end, they resorted to cutting the lines because the foreigners just didn't seem interested in fishing. |

If you want to catch serious cod, try a boat trip to the needle's while your in the Isle of White, with Jan and Feb being the best months. |

I have noticed this sort of post a lot lately. This is not a dig at limey but why does everyone feel scared of fishing there? I mean if I were to organize a trip there, with a group of 25 of us, who's going to argue with that.
We could send limey as lead scout to warn them off!!   |

I'm not sure if you have fished there lately but its not much fun, Its not about being scared.picture this your fishing away happily and then a group of people turn up and fish 3 feet away from you, its obvious whats going to happen. When challenging these people all you get is me no understand, me no speaky english. Its like banging your head against a wall and ultimately end of fishing trip. Not to mention all the undersize fish they take, me personally wouldn't be able to hold my tongue so best avoided.
Why go select a fishing location when there are lots of others relatively hassel free. Pick another and enjoy your day out. Especially if you are new to the sport it could put you off for life. |

It seems you are not very experienced at fishing other venues mate...
It's not a question of being scared, or not being scared.
The post was a bit of advise to some-one who asked for it, and who was realatively new to sea fishing.
Perhaps I could give you a bit of friendly advise mate......
Before you organise any event, investigate your venue first and,
always take notice of what the ' locals ' tell you.
They know the place better than you ever will.
 |
