What's your views on using bait needles for lug and rag worm ?
I did have three, but two were sort of confiscated by fellow anglers eager to use them.
I find threading three or four worms onto the hook and line real easy now.

I dont like them (mainly cos I cant use them)

you can have mine Limey- I'll send it to you when I return the application form- I know they're cheap but I just cant use them and its just stting there gathering dust in my box- the hook kept slipping off and I can bait up quicker straight onto the hook/snood.

Stu,

when baiting up with a needle, put the sharp end of the hook in the hole of the baiting needle and pull on the line so that you get some tension. this way, it shouldn't slip off.

I use them all the time. They are great. When you've finished baiting up you can use them to knit a nice warm scarf to keep you warm when stripping the line of the multiplier.

:-)

Hi Stu,

Might be up for some fishing next week - fancy it ?

I heard a wicked rumour that you like it so much down here, and a certain fishing shop needs your trade so badly that you have decided not to go back up North...

Is this true ?

let me know if your up for a bit of fishing - any time is good for me as I'm in the UK all week (for a change).

Screaming- t'is all true.- so the soft southerners will have to put up with me for a bit longer.

I cant fish through the week as I'm working- and even if i threw a sickie I'd be on decorating duties- however Saturday I can do or Sunday though I'd need to eb back to Colchester by 4.30 on the Sunday to run my step daughter home.

I'll check the tides and arrange a venue if you can do either

I reckon Saturday then.

I'll ask Essexman aswell, but as it gets dark, the tilley lamps can cause a romantic atmosphere, so just watch out for his wandering hands :-)

I've already got permission from The Lord of Spending (Mrs Screaming Heels fnarrr), but Sunday I need to rest a bit as I've got a really big week in Schweiz.

OKay then matey- do you want to go for Shingle St on Saturday afternoon?- high tide is about 5.40pm so I reckon if we get there for about 3pm- that gives us chance to meet and set up while its still light- and from what I could see Shingle St hadnt been destroyed in the way that East Lane had.
