Hi all

I took a trip to Stanford Sea wall today, only fished for two half hours and in that time i had 3 flounder best going 32cm for 15oz the other two were 12oz 13oz and good size all fish caught on rag worm. After hour half i ran out of rag and the lug was not happening all bites were coming on the rag worm lots of bites. The weather was very cold. This is still a great venue for flounder i just fish the wrong side of bay.

The new Stanford Wall is something else with the work they have done, dont know if anyone remembers the wall before but i have attached some pictures. As you can see a very large hole has been breached in the wall the pictures i have taken shows the wall from the boat area looking down towards the area where the stones are towards Southend.

Fishing is still ok here parking by the Warren is ok walk down the path and you come across the bay which was dry when i first got there and as the tide came in it flooded, wont be long and you can fish in the bay. To get to the other end by the stones you would have to come in from the other end (rainbow lane) as you cannot walk across the bay even at low water as the mud is very thick . If i had known the new layout i would have come in at the other end and fished on the stones, but i still caught.

Hi Snagger

I would recommend this venue if you get the chance, very good for flounder this time of year eel in summer with the chance of bass. Fished here many a time in the years its good to see we can still get down to the wall even with the new container port being built. Hopefully when the port is finished we may still be able to fish here.

I think i may have bumped into you on Tuesday at Canvey angling, have you been out?
