A warm welcome to the forums mate, as to the floatation suit whatever make you chose go for the 2piece suit as it is easier to get into and in warm weather you can always take the coat off. cheers

hi guys, looking for some expert knowledge. i'm new to arbroath, just moved here to live with my fiance from glasgow. i used to be a trout fisher but leaving that behind for beachcasting and sea fishing. i'm a disabled guy and walk with a stick. i'm looking for hints and tips on the best locations and baits for fishing for cod, haddock, pollock etc. i was fishing the common, behind jumping joey's on sunday with black lug and blueys but caught nothing. i got caught on the rocks and had to snap my line or end up snapping my rod. i have no idea where the best spots are or how to hook blueys properly. i just hooked the bluey through the eyes on sunday and don't know if that is right, hence why i'm asking the experts. cheers n advance guys.

A more appropriate question may read, "Where can I fish as I am disabled".

That statement may produce more replies.

May I ask, without being intrusive as to the extent of your disability? Thereafter others may be able to assist with your answers?

Puddle.

Wolfie35p

I live in Arbroath and so fish the surrounding area. Did so years ago, then wife & kids came on the seen so some years out, but back in again the last 1 1/2 years.

There are marks that you can fish literally from your car however without knowing fully what your capabilities are when walking with a stick its hard to advise.

The most productive marks tend to require walking & climbing to varying degrees. Would keep off the cliffs unless shown as they can look easy but are infact treacherous and when swells get up even more so.

Best bet would be a meet up and have a wee sesh to give you some pointers. Behind jumping joeys is known as Bally's after the night club which was named so, and it fishes more in the winter months with a good sea running etc.
