Hi just left you a message in another area, as I said there, we regularly fish the sussex coast including brighton beach and marina, not had much off the marina of late due to the bad weather the beach near black rock has produced bass but its been so rough we havn't had much luck really. Shoreham was a regular spot for us but after blanking for several visits we feel the fishing is pretty dead down there. We are off to seaford thursday night weather permitting see how it goes . . . |

Hi jh1tf1,the weather has been bloody awful hasn't it? I must admit that im just getting back into fishing after a long break and its nice to know that there are other Sussex based anglers on here.I too used to fish Shoreham but more when the wooden arm was there and i used to love it especially on overnighters.Funny thing was that i never seemed to catch much off of the concrete arms at Shoreham but found the wooden one very productive. I have been on Brighton marina a lot,but more this time of year because as much as i love seeing youngsters take up our sport,i hate the kids that constantly beg you for bait or the ones that haul enough Mackerel up the arm to fill a trawler, then leave them on the arm to rot.Although im informed that there is a warden there now to stop this happening.I have fished Newhaven arms on a regular basis as i say a while ago, they used to be good,im not sure if they still are or not.Seaford beach used to be a good winter beach for the Whiting and i have seen some decent Cod caught there too. |

Hi Brighton_Angler, I used to fish Brighton Mariner reguly but not as much now. Prefer to fish from the beach nearer up Worthing way or the pier. The mariner is good although with this weather it has hardly been open recently. When it calms down again I will deffo get over there as it has always fished well for me. Will be looking forward to hopefully getting some overnight trips there aswell. If you are going there soon its worth phoning them to check the arms are open. |
