Not done a report for a while, not cos i aint been fishing but cos there has been nothing worth reporting
I fished the PM tide on saturday. Baits used were Lug, squid and makerel. conditions looked ideal with a rough see and it was not windy on the rod tips
got to the point at around 10pm and had 2 rods out. 1 hook clip down and 2 hook flapper.
within 15 minutes the 1 hook clip down road bent right round and was going crazy. hooked into the biggest fish of the night. 16" whiting, taken on a large squid bait and my best whiting so far
then it went dead on the rod with a few fish
the 2 hook flapper on the other hand was on fire, fish after fish, sometimes as soon as the baits hit the water
excellent nights fishing. the total was over 45 whiting and 80% over 12" in length
no other species caught, a few school bass still around when i fished thorpe bay |

hello buddy
my mate fished the morning tide today and blanked so its good going catching the bigger fish during the day
ive actually not fished the point for some time. my last few sessions have been at the huts on thorpe bay. But to be honest since ive got back into sea fishing the point has been the most productive in numbers and size too
i think my mate and i are gonna try the OJ during the day to see what its all about
app a few big cod being pulled out off the OJ recently
the caravan park....do you mean near the lobster smack?? |
