any ideas where to try and dig some lug worm around medway towns area preferably, just for a fishing session and to save a few quid on shop prices....

Seasalter was where we used to dig, hard work but nice worms.

hi mate. i have dug lug all my life having lived in medway all my life.
i suggest the obvious place is grain. its good out there at the moment. its soft mud for a couple hundred yards then it gets hard to walk on. its best to dig on the spring tides as obviosly theres less surface water. park by the church and walk down to the promenade and head out.
you can dig at allhallows but the ground is dodgy and you need to know exactly where to dig or you can be caught out. hoo marina towards kingsnorth is also an option. you can dig in certain areas right by the sea wall but the lug is small and again you have to be careful cause it can be dodgy.
i hope this helps and if you want more info just pm me
cheers gary

what are ground conditions at seasalter like (tensenervoushaddock), as other posts mentioned are saying soft in other areas. would prefer firmer conditions if there is anywhere..

firm sand, no problem unless you walk into already dug patches. I suppose that it gets muddier as you go west up along the Swale but who's going to walk that far.... coming in to Seasalter from Faversham you come around a right hand bend to travel alongside the sea wall.... there used to be places where you could pull off the road and park on the right, haven't been that way for a couple of years though.

Lots of people dig at seasalter very good. drive along the front and park anywhere along the wall. by the boat club is popular. tide goes out a long way there.
