Drysuits

Can anyone recommend what drysuit is best for kayak fishing ? I particularly wish to be able to fish sitting "side saddle" on the kayak with my legs dangling over the side. Do the "surface Sport" drysuits allow this or should I go for a scuba style neoprene version ?

Grateful for any advice anyone can give - am keen to get out amongst the winter codling !

I have this one & my legs are danging fine, has built in dry socks. Just remember to put plenty of not too tight socks on underneath & go a couple of sizes up on the footwear.
I also not only survived but stayed dry when I went overboard a couple of weeks ago

Thanks Mick, thats helpful. I take it that you wouldnt recomend a cheaper model then ? I see typhoon do some around the £300. I need to buy one for the wife too (we have a two seater)
Do you also know if the wetsuit outlet has a shop in Southend (I noticed their website has a Southend number) that I could go to try them on.

I went to there warehouse shop which is more of a dispatch depot. There was others there buying wetsuits etc & they seemed well used to people turning up & ringing the bell. I found the more boxes you want ticked with the dry-suits the more expensive they get. The other one I considered was this one but thought it might make me look like a canary big grin

when you eventually get your suit you'll also find it a great help keeping warm if you also buy a " Teddy suit" which is usually a one piece micro fibre suit ( can be 2 pc if desired) failing that you might find the purchase of the BrynJe Super Norwegian thermal underwear as used by the Military guys and its real good

I've had the vest and long trousers for over 10 yrs use in thick of cold weather and they have never let me down whether wading in cold deep rivers with chest waders or in my dry suit when out in the boat
btw...don't forget the head warmer ......... vital !

Yes for sure you need the head warmer.......I like old fashioned wool!!!......
