i've got a pair of the 12ft fs versions and i've been really impressed with them, they're good value for money, they cast well, give good bite indication, and they look the part too |

i have a bike so i had to find a way to get my fishing rods on the back of a backpack so went for a 6 piece Shakespeare travel rod (for larger uk species) and a fladen 6 piece (for smaller species).
and to be honest for £90 (what i paid) the shakespeare was unbelievable value for money its casting weight is 4-8 oz . and it really does hold up against other rods and i think its probably the best rod ive owned, its also extremely lightweight.
great bite indication but not flimsy so that wind vastly affects it.
i know travel rods have been given bad press and for alot of people they wouldnt even consider them but it really is awesome.
and its claimed it can be used overseas for small sharks and jacks.

Not bad except for the "long surf" type where they have rather foolishly fitted chrome plated ferrules which rust. I have since moved on to Abu Hellbenders which are a tad more than your budget but much better rods. |

My brother has a pair of the salt 12' f/s rods..... they are very good, .. the range is being replaced now so that model is being sold off cheaply... maybe £40 each or so..... great value for money at that price. |
