I fished off the rocks at Portballintrae a couple of weeks ago and managed to catch 3 Mullet. I was just wondering where along the North Coast is best for Mullet and is there a particlar time of year that is better.

Bajob

Try any harbour when its really calm and either really early or late in the evening before dark.
If you can ground bait with some smelly / oily fish mixed with breadcrumbs for a few days before yopu should be in luck. Sometimes you can see where they hang around when its clear.
I have never caught one in the sea never mind three. Well done that man!!

Good luck

Thanks for the advice. To be honest it was a case of watching until they took the bread rather than feeling the bite. I was above them on the rocks on a calm day and could watch them swimming around.

Thanks

Trevor
