Was invited out on a boat trip off Larne (ish).
We set off 10:30, returning about 15:30 full tide was about 13:30.
Three off us fishing of the boat using various traces, mainly hokkai.
We headed towards the old lighthouse, and began a first drift.
As the first line touched the water, mackerel seemed to want to jump into the boat, and stayed that way for ages. We kept about 60 mackerel between us (I wanted as many as was on the go to fill bait freezer with), putting back many, many more.
There were also coalie, pollock, codling offering themselves up. A couple of coalie and pollock were kept for the table.
Thought i'd post the pic of the only wrasse of the day, a reasonable sized female cuckoo, simply 'cos I like the look of them.
