River Camel, Wadebridge looks promising as does Porthcothan beach with its river/stream?
Or River Gannel in Newquay but nearer the mouth from the Fistral head side. Will have to avoid the surfers though. Odd being on the other end of the line ( I surfed for 30 years).

Sorry Lindsay, can't help. I've never been to Cornwall before but am heading that way to fish in a couple of weeks, by coincidence. |

Lindsay, there's a bay at the entrance to the camel at padstow. Fished it once, but too early in season. It was recommended to me by the fishing shop in padstow. Can be accessed by walking from padstow or down from the hilltop above. Watch the tide though, very tidal beach.
Tight lines.

Thanks Col, I was there today coincidentally, and missed your post! though it is worth noting there is actually a car park at Hawkers Cove, I parked at Padstow which was a long walk with back pack like he day you saw me at Pagham. The other adjoining bay is harhour cove. And yes you need to watch the tide, I was almost cut off.
Saw 2 other SWFFRS there but none of us caught. Accoring to the local guy the SE winds that was howling down the CAmel was driving the bait fish back to the sea. I may return.
A place for Mullet is apparently the old Iron bridge going SE from Padstow on the Camel walk, and also around the harbour, and you can see them swimming around the inner harbour.
I'm trying Mawgan Porth tommorrow, and/or the Gannel just south of Newquay.
People also ssem to fish the Ebb tide, I've watched the same guy 2 days on the trot do it at Treyarnon, 2 hours before low, but he doesn't seem to catch probably waits for me look the other way!

Rilver Camel update. I tried Hwakers cove again with a NW wind this time,
but it was blowing a Gale, and I was SWFFG in chesties, blankety blank. There is a point that the sand forms with the main river flow which is the place to be. But the wind there was even stronger there and dozens of kite surfers and it was freezing.
River Gannel proved awful which surprised me and a couple other fishermen I met. The CP attendant said you get a few Bass near the mouth but no mullet? I think they r further up river.
For mullet try the outfall on the headland to the North of fistral, next to the old life boat station. looking amongst the rocks on the opposite side (newquay side) one can see rocks and mortar, its that, I ran out of time and was desperate to get out the wind, 4 days of strong winds gets to you.
best regrds
