Went down for a couple of hours over Strood wall yesterday, with my Dad. For the mid day tide. Didn't know what to expect, if anything, at the moment, but took a couple of score of rag incase any Bass were about. Had a few little rattles about an hour before ht, which I thought to be just crabs. But after constant knocking, it then had one pull, so reeled in, to find a nice sole on the end. Best one I've seen from there, a good 16" in length. big grin
At high water my Dad had a good bite which resulted in a big eel. Couple of missed bites too, so not bad, as we weren't expecting anything in that sun.

Further round than laser quay, where there is a wall, instead of railings/fence. Looking from directly oposite the command house.
Don't know the actual name of this part of the estate, just always called it strood wall. happy

Well done! Considered fishing the Medway yesterday but ended up down the coast.
Great on the fish, I've never caught a sole here and the eels seem to be getting a bit rare now.

Went back down to the same spot last night with two mates, and had another good sized sole, just as the tide started to ebb. Only one fish between the 3 rods, in about 5hrs fishing, so pretty dead down there at the moment. Happy to get that one in. big grin
