Managed to get a few friends together for a much needed boat fix.
Left on "Lady Anne" from Rochester at 5am, skipper had decided to go for smooth hounds first and we arrived at a mark somewhere half way between Leysdown and the Essex coast by 7am.
Wow!
Kevin put us straight on the fish!!!
I haven't posted pics before so thought it was about time, ( thanks for mrix/flattiefanatic for instructions ), hope it works.
Will with smooth hound ten minutes after anchoring. About 10lb we reckoned

We all had one and totalled about 12 in the first two hours, the best being Eva's which was weighed at 14lb 2oz. This was the "fish of the day"
Robin, lucky by reputation, also landed a beautiful 8lb 4oz bass
The fishing died at this mark however we had to wait to move due to a snagged anchor which was going to require help from another more powerful boat.
We dropped lines again, but nothing for an hour then three very small dogfish, another smoothie and I lost a decent fish down to a dodgy knot, which I had tied, so only myself to blame!!
"Girl Mandy" from Essex set the anchor free, actually snapped the rope resulting in some poor bloke breaking his glasses and a cut to his face from the whiplash. We kinda saw it coming from our boat as we looked on but nothing we could do! He is OK though.
Moved up to the Great Nor off of Grain in the hope of some rays but alas the fishing had gone dead. After an hour and a half of no bites we headed back.
Many thanks to Kevin the skipper for a great day out and would highly recommend him for a trip.
Eva now has our "biggest" fish record with the smooth hound beating my pb of 11lbs!!!
I'm going to have to try harder!!!!
Great day out and some fantastic fish
