hope someone can help my mitchell fg677 reel is not locking out only had the reel 6mnths but mitchell are not willing to help as i have lost the warranty card and proof of purchase.

Where did you buy it ... if its an online or mail order purchase the retailer would probably have a record of the purchase ... its also the responsibility of the retailer to sort the problem, not the manufacturer.

That aside, what do you mean exactly by "locking out"?

what i mean by not locking out is the spool is just on free all the timeit is not locking in place like it should to keep the line tight

Do you mean the spool is revolving on the shaft (ie like it would when it gives line to a fish that pulls hard) or that the reel backwinds and there is no anti-reverse?
