Ok everyone, what is the one thing that you really like about fishing and what is the one thing you realy hate ?
Catching or not catching is excluded from your answer......
My fav thing is the change of scenery and relaxation that fishing offers.
I hate the cold. Cold feet, cold hands, cold everything else... |

The thing I like most is going somewhere new to fish.(Better if I catch as well, but not essential).
What I hate is idiot "anglers" who behave dangerously and litter the place and ar*ehole jet-skiers who should be shot on sight. Mind you a head shot would be no good as you would probably miss their brain cell  |

Love : Good company, good laughs and the sound multipliers make when you really throw one out.
Hate :
1. Fishermen walking past me on Walton Pier looking at me like I'm a tw@t because I've spannered the multiplier again.
2. Fishermen with Coleman lanterns - because I haven't got one.
3. The worm that decides to "let go" with its inner organs all over my new Karimoors.
4. After casting in the dark you don't know where the hell the lines gone, so you sit there all worried and nervous because in about 15 minutes some old fecker (10 feet away, that knows more than you) will think he has a 40lb cod. And he hasn't - he has the end of my crap rod.
5. Old nutters that use drop nets and wooden pier rod holders
6. The wellies that have no left or right - only a middle. You can NOT run wearing these without looking gay.
7. eels.
8. The cut you get that you can't work out how you did it.
9. Answering your mobile phone and then (after fishing and baiting up with "Mr Stinky") answering it again a week later.
10. Remembering "the last time that happened". Knowing damn well it always happens.
11. Telling people it's a "Zebco".
12. looking at nice sandwiches and remebering point 3. |

Nothing Concrete. I just think that the wooden pier rod holder is a bit .... well... anorak ?
and drop nets are always snagging up and left at the end of the pier for people (like me) to look a tw@t trying to reel in and then the feckers on the pier say "Oh not only has he spannered his multiplier, he's wenkered his drop net". |

Yes you have to be careful where you lower your net, but I've never lost one on Walton Pier. As for the pier rests, they are useful in windy weather to stop your rod sliding along the pier. Mine has a wooden base holding a Breakaway double tripod head.
I'll get me coat  |

Nice one
If you go to the entrance of the pier near the picnic area, you will find "said" drop net.
(the new supermag xtra is the ace by the way, I've written up a review and it should be up one it has been looked at by the site owner - I know you are a Penn fan !) |

You obviously haven't seen the size of some of the snags at the start of the pier.
The only thing that the Penn Mags can't handle is being rolled down Frinton sea wall.
Mind you, I didn't think much of it as I rolled down with them   |

Can you still fish off Frinton sea wall ?
I heard it was all full of boulders around there -
"So long and fish for all the thanks".
(sorry, couldn't resist). |

You can fish the corners, but that's it
The wall I was refering to is at the start of the huts on stilts, still uncomfortable to roll down  |

I'm sure that your "winter lagging" from all that christmas eating would mean that rolling down Frinton wall, would be a joy.
