Don't want to pour cold water on this idea. Tried it 20 years ago. If you are in very slack currents fine. If you are in a strong tide or current, forget it. The Feeder pulls even an 8ox grip lead out and lands back on the beach.

we have deep water and strong tides up here and as long as you dont use a massive feeder you'll be fine, i've seen some guys fishing massive versions and this is where the problem can come in. you dont need much bait to get a good scent trail going so a small feeder is all i use. if you want to try a large feeder i advise cutting long strips in the feeder to allow the bait to get out quickly and for the current/flow to go through.

i admit there are a few problems but if you use something about film canister size you shouldnt have any problems if you've got a decent fixed lead out. (by decent i mean decent wires that actually hold)
