Took My new Orvis T3 out for a run this evening, and managed to christen it nicely with this fella.
The T3 in action during the fight. |

Nice one Wighty,so there is truth in the fact that the better kit you have produces more fish!

Looks like it Simon, I was casting further than I had been with the other Rod and the Fish took within the first couple of strips, might not have reached him with the 'cheaper' Rod!! LOL. |

Nice early season fish Chris. Your putting the rest of us to shame mate.
Looks like the island is the place to be. How would you feel about hosting a get together next month? Some of the lads here have never been abroad before.
Well done again. |

I think what it is Colin, is that this awful weather has hampered a good start for you guys. We have been catching during Tiny windows in the weather, when conditions have just about been fishable. Last night for instance you can see by the pics that it was very dark, that was the rain clouds not the time of day! We were only actually fishing for about an hour, as soon as I returned the Fish the wind switched to a very awkward south easterly (right to left), and it started hailstoning quite hard! We legged it quick!
As for a get together over here I would be honoured to host one, I'll study the tides for next month and see what I can do. Transport wise we can probably manage six bodies maybe one or two more. |

well done on the catch chris, good way to christian your rod.i think all the bass are scared to cross the solent at the moment.know what you ment about the wind,we was out yesterday day[scierra and myself] saw the black clounds over the island.that wind changed directions so quickly in a short period of time .look forward to a meet up on foreign shores, you watch all the bass cross the solent that day.
