so after the great success of the last few sessions ( or not ) i think the plan is to try and go a little further a field for the next trip , Selsey was mentioned but so far ive not seen a report of anything happening down that way and i think its still a few weeks away from the smoothie invasion ( fingers crossed )

So my suggestion is to go the other direction - Gillkicker , Stokes Bay , LoS or Hillhead , ive seen some half decent reports of rays etc coming out of these venues

not looked at tide times or anything yet so just throwing the idea out there and to see how many people are interested cool

That all being said i might not even be able to make it as im busy over the weekend worried worried

Certainly it's been a bit hit and miss (more miss for me and Ed than any kind of hit) so far.

I'm away this weekend so can only do Friday nite/till early hours of Saturday morning.

I'm with you Jim that local fishing is slow at present so best to give the Samir and Dave "secret" fishing location a miss I feel for at least another week.

Up for Gosport, Lee on Solent or Calshot areas ago, however if we all have time limitations to consider this time round then I'll be more than happy to give Hayling a go Friday nite into Saturday morning.

Letting the voting begin....

Ok so I get to choose the venue when;

(a.) Family commitments mean that some of us (me included) mean we are not 100% sure if we can make it or not.
(B) the forecast is due heavy rain and the dreaded SE wind
(C) There are hardly any bloody fish being caught anywhere.
(D) High tide is 1am !

Gee thanks guys.................. winking

For these reasons, I'm not sure that going to far afield this weekend to be the best thing. I suggest we save that for a weekend when the fishing is better.

So to help battle these bad points I give you 2 suggested venues..... Yes that's right 2.

I will open these both up to the vote. That way I am only 50% responsible if we blank........ Cleaver eh. big grin

Option 1 _ Somewhere different based in Southampton. Apparently difficult to blank (famous last words.) But currently mainly only small fish showing. Although recently has shown a small doggie being pulled out. Also no distance casting required as not actually fishing from the beach.

Option _ 2.
Hayling Island.

Sorry to sound like a broken recprd on this but at present it seems to be the only one to be producing anything regulary with some fun to be had with schoolie bass. It would be intention if this gets the vote to tackle it on a two front basis to make it a bot more of an interesting night. The first would be to fish high water at a certain spot then to switch locations and to fish low water a differnt location while watching the sun to come up so finishing about 8ish in the morning.

So there you are two options and given the current difficulties they are the best I can come up with. I will clarify plans and exact location once we have a WINNER.

My personal vote - Option 2 as I quite like the idea of fishing 2 spots and seeing the sun come up/.

well as im still not 100% on whether i can make it i will abstain for the vote tougue

but i know for sure i wont be doing an all nighter as it looks like i'll be driving back and forth to Romsey most of saturday.

***I'm not sure that going to far afield this weekend to be the best thing. I suggest we save that for a weekend when the fishing is better. ***

not sure how southampton works out to be closer than the suggestions i made tho winking

So which out of the two options is your's and Dave's vote going on then Samir?

Currently there have been two replies yet not a single vote cast confused

Appreciate that Jim's up in the air at present with family ties but as time is running out we may just have to make a plan and hope that Jim can join us if not for the full night then at least a couple of hours....?

Happy to go along with any other suggestions, as I just want to get out there and fish. These are simply just suggestions based upon where a little bit of research suggests are currently fishing better than most at present. And which offer something just a little bit different to the norm which was what we all wanted.

Lets have your votes/suggestions and lets bring the fishing on......................

Hey hey hey, there is no girlie moments going on here. I am very happy going out. I admit I DID have a girlie moment last time but I was proven right and it's been the rest of you who have been moaning about "force 10 Gales" ever since.

I can't believe that I have been texting you this week and then you decide to go out tomorrow when I'm back to work!!! crying

Unless Jim is now in a position to cast a vote, then option 2 seems to have the win. I suggest we wait another day to for me to decide the exact location of the first part. Just want to give us the best possible chance.

As HT is about 1am, shall we aim to get to Hayling for about 10ish? In time for last orders! big grin

Ed, are you still ok with giving me a lift? If you are then maybe suggest we all meet at mine. Jim/Dave can then follow you so we all get down there together. Or if that is to far out of peoples way (I've worse sense of direction) then I'll text Samir and Jim tomorrow (Jim can you PM me your number.)

Seems worm baits are best but bring along any of that fresh Makkie dingelberry as possible doggies.
