Would love to be at his dinner table......but i agree somewhat that it may be a bit excessive..but also if it was cod or any other than a bass would anyone be moaning about it?

I think it behoves all anglers to exercise restraint nowadays. All commercial species (and some others too) are much fewer than in the past - you only have to see the numbers of blanks reported here to see that much. Although anglers don't have the impact of commercial fishing, we should nonetheless minimise that which we make. So don't go mad when you strike lucky.

Cod or bass, keep a couple for the table by all means, but you don't have to fill a chest freezer. Unfortunately I know someone who will. I also know of someone more reprehensible who sells his catch. An odious fellow, and not just for that reason.

If you know someone who sells his catch (unless he is your best mate or a family member) why dont you let those that can do something (authorities) know?

Typical of the "live for today, sod the future" attitude shown by many anglers. After all the exposure given to the precarious position of the Bass and other species, they just carry on with this gung ho attitude. I go on a few other forums, on one in particular they would be having a real good laugh at this picture. I'm not against keeping the odd fish, but this is just taking the ****!!
Cheers Dave

Utter rubbish.

Have you ever wondere what happens to a fish when you put it back alive ? Normally it swims off for a few yards and then goes belly up - and besides, if you feel that strongly about fish welfare, stop putting hooks in them in the first place. BassFlyy has done nothing illegal and nothing to harm future stocks - they are all sizeable and each fish shown here will have bred at least once - which will sustain the bass stocks.

From experience running these forums these topics 100% of the time get ugly and it looks as though this topic will follow the same form sad
Just for the record the guy in the picture is not actually our member bassfly.
