Some one mentioned Mountbatten Breakwater in plymouth regularly producing conger of various sizes.

Can anyone tell me the tactics to catch then please. I fish at the point when I go down to Plymouth with my wife for the weekends.
Have fished M/B Point 6/7 times and have fish each time but never a sniff of conger. Normally fish 2 rods 1 x pennell semi big bait at the top of the Brk/Water by the board in the boat channel if I can cast there, or just right of it shore side..

When I say fishing I mean, 2 carp spod rods with 4oz weights

I have now upgraded to real fishing tackle.

Any info would be cool.

Thanks.

hi.. i live not far from here.. i fish 40lb line on a sl20. good strong rod.. the rig i use is 200lb line size 8/0 meat hook. and use 3-4 squid on the hook.. and fish half way up the pier on the right about 20 metres out. you will stand a good chance of catching this way.. good luck
