I am a novice sea angler and i intent to go to Lanley Point over christmas/new year. Can anyone tell me what baits, what tide to fish, what weight to use, and what it is possible to catch there. Do you fish into the mouth of the harbour or straight out to sea? Is a normal 4-6oz beachcaster ok here? |

hi alan
i fish mostly between bexhill to pevensy bay and find you cant go wrong with fresh lug sometimes tiped off with squid . try a squid on one of the hooks never know whats around , 2hrs either side of the tides is what i tend to fish and see how it goes if its having it sit it out , had several good fish in the last 3 weeks of varied sorts so give it a go and best of luck just a tip, you dont have to hit the horizon to find the fish had a 6,5lb bass at 40 yards on the low tide |

Ta mate. Got a rod and reel now, so gearing up for an outing over the holiday period. Prob Langley or Pevensey Bay. Anyone ever fished the mouth of the Soverign harbour? It looks very inviting! |

Hi Alan, you sound like you have similar problems to me. I live in stone cross and have just started sea fishing with little idea. I coarse fished as a teenager but never beach fished. I have been a couple of times at Cooden but need help with a few pointers in the right directions. never been to langley point though. |

Sounds like a session in the making here! I would love a go at the Point or the mouth of the quay over the holliday, and with a bit of tuition thrown in, so much the better! I fished Pevensey Bay last Sun morning and had 1 Whiting. The bloke 100yds to my left was pulling them in 2 at a time. At least i didnt blank tho. For me next Sat on onwards would be favourite due to work etc. Low tide Sat is around 1300 hrs wich would suit nicely ( i suppose???) I can be contacted on 07967 010348. |
