Fished car park again today, from 10.45am till 4.00pm. and drew a blank again, forth blank on the trot. even using fresh and frozen bait,,,weather was grey , overcast and drizzle at times, and still a nip in the air.
The humber river was almost flat calm and no wind. not even a bite in site,, apart from weed,,,
Am taking a break from fishing, feel my confidence is getting rather low at the moment. if i cant catch using fresh or frozen bait, then cant see point in going, and not having a fishing buddie to go with,, so with that, am going to sign out and put gear away for time being. |

Never known you to be down in the dumps mate. One thing that you can count on is that things can't get any worse and that big personal best cod could be just around the corner.
Cheers

Hi martyn, dont despair me old mucker, this weather is stopping most of us going out, as soon as it improves we will be down that way again. Ive been stuck in every day since before xmas, its driving me crazy not that you would notice. See ya soon as, and i will show you how to blank with style and grace. |

Yeh i was thinking about doing the same thing for a few weeks because i found myself in the same boat, but then i thought, well if you dont try at all then you certainly wont catch anything! And i suppose i think a reward for sticking out so many blanks is due so im expecting a nice plump cod or at least some good flatties as a repayment!

Don't know about catching a big fat cod, more like a stinking cold,,, and when in 12 months fishing, 1 has only caught 1 Legal sized fish, then you can see why 1 feel's like throwing the towel in and walking away for good. |

Hi martyn, I think most of us know where you are coming from, in four years ive only had 2 decent fish, a 1.7lb flatty from Filey cliffs, and a 1lb whiting when we fished the comp at Huttoft. All the rest have been undersize or marginal. The way i look at it is, it gets me out, ive met some great lads fishing (yourself included) and ive had some great days out. On top of that theres the camping trips, and short holidays, all of which wouldnt have happened if i hadnt stuck it out. You need to get away from the Humber, its dismal fishing at the best of times, ive only caught 1 rockling from there in 7 trips. Were going to be fishing Brid, Scabby, or Spurn as soon as we can, hopefully in the next 2 weeks. So feel free to join us, we might not catch the bigun, but at least we will get out in good company. See ya soon. Cheers...Mick |

Chin up fella think everybody has found it hard to connect to a decent size fish but it will happen when your least expecting it. Try some differant marks some excellant ones futher up the coast spurn, etc. Or furher a field South Yorkshire i often come over to fish that side you can tag along with me when your available. |

Manic (mick) you've hit the nail on the head there, and that im stuck in a rut just fishing the humber. And i should make the effort and time to get back to fish at Brid, or even try hornsea or withernsea, or make the trip back to spurn, when the weather picks up. |
