If you are going to fish, fish sunday as there is a weather warning for saturday, gusts of between 70 and 80mph.

Aye

If its still there get yourself in a pub called the Green Beret just down the road from the old Royal Marines School of Music- you'll be sure to get yourself into a tidy scrap with some old bootnecks still hanging around- a right laugh

Ooh squaddie bashing! Nice touch. I bet you have real fun in Colchester on a saturday night! I remember an incident in Aldershot some years ago with fond memories and a slight twinge!!

Ginger, if you happen to be accosted by a redhead by the name of Louise, you don't know me!! (ex girlfriend from years ago. Dumped her in a spectacularly caddish fashion and ended up going out with her sister!)

Somebody did tell me that there is a river outlet to the sea somewhere round there where the fishing is supposed to be good.

happy
I've fished Deal a few times mate.....
Fairly steep bank, all shingle...
You can fish the pier, though I'm not sure what times they are open.
Parking is OK and there is a carpark just to the left of the pier.
Have fun mate, and B&B is not too bad if you are thinking of having a few beers.

While Royal Marines tended to have a trace of brain cells the Para's are a different matter altogether so I stay well of Colchester Town centre of a Saturday noght- saying that I dont know whats more scary a para or the ladies of Colchester

Hi gingerangler,

did you get to Deal....???

Only just found your post, I fished Deal today [Sunday] from about 9:30am to 12:00am infront of Sandown castle (Beach)... then the pier from 12:30 to 2:30pm.

I blanked but my mate caught a skooly bass on the pier.....

Spectacular seas today a 6m tide whipped up with the strong winds and a large swell..... plenty of colour in the water and lots of white surf and sea spray..... Dover harbour wall which is some twnety feet high had waves smashing upover it as I drove past first thing.

I bet Dover and Deal fish their @rses off tomorrow  why couldn't have been today.... :? LOL

The pier was closed today until 9:45am because of the weather....

the pier is open all night friday and saturday and close at 10pm the rest of the time.... sunday the carpark opposite the pier is free all day... the one by the pier on the seafront is chargable from 8:00am to 6:00pm every day

BEACH location....
Walmer in front of the castle [carpatk then alk over the top to beach]
Kingsdown [Boundary road and the Butts]....located 1-2 miles past walmer castle
Sandown Castle [nolonger a castle just a few rocks to mark its location]... at the end of the promenade too the left faceing the pier 3 min drive and free parking in sandown road
Coast Gaurd Station... between pier and sandown Castle
10th Hole further on than Sandown castle but would need mapto show how to get there... parking in a restaurant carpark

Tight lines
