Hi mate, not been out for a few months now. Brought a Prowler Trident 13ft in July and got in a few trips before the bad / cold weather set in. Just ordered a winter wesuit , boots, gloves and hood. Thinking about a flounder session in Portsmouth harbour but not too sure if I will be warm enough . Do you get out during the winter ? If yes maybe we could get together at some time ? |

The sea temp at this time of year does it for me.
This time of year I try and improve my beach casting. |

What do you think is best for kayak sea fishing (I live near Aberdeen)...wet suit or dry pants/top? I think the kayaking wet suits are probably used more by the white water kayakers and the dry suits by the sea kayakers, but not sure which is best for the fishermen.
I moved here a bit more than a year ago from Houston. Kayak fished a lot in Galveston Bay...water temp not much of a problem there. Haven't been out in my kayak here yet. Still trying to figure out where to go...any advice is appreciated...sea or loch fishing.
Would love to find an estuary that would allow me to do some flounder fishing.
Cheers |

Most, if not all kayak anglers use dry suits when the water is cold. I can't help on fishing in Scotland, try looking on the anglers afloat web site. |

I dont use a dry suit, i normally wear a full or shorty wetsuit in the summer. However, dry suits do seem like an idea, i simply dont want to cook when im wearing one. |
