hey all, i was wondering if anyone could help me on a few ?? i have please
i have a Ron Tompson multiplier and i was wondering what the best oil or grease there is to make it cast better, at the mo i can cast on the beach when the tide is out 159 long paces which is about 150 meters and i know and feel that the reel has got more go in it, i use a six oz weight, the reel is set up as good as i can get it to the weight that im using.
So what does anyone think is the best sollution for this little problem that i have.
next ?, it only has one ball bearing will that make a difference, ive seen some multipliers that have up to six bearings, will the one bearing on my reel hinder the performance of my casting. :? :? :?
i hope that someone can help me on these ?? that i have. any hints, tips and info would be greatly appreaciated. many thanks in advance jambo. |

I'm not been funny mate but if you're doing 150 metres on the beach with bait and tackle you're doing something right and probably don't need any extra oil or tweaking of the reel to make it run even faster- if it aint broke dont fix it- but rocket fuel seems to be a popular choice of oils- I think yellow is for fast and red for general fishing which is what I use on my reels. |

£4.95 a bottle seems to be the going rate- bu you might be able to get it a bit cheaper in your friendly local tackle shop |

jambo,
has your reel got a 'level wind' on it, if it has this will slow the reel, may give you another 10-20 yrds if removed.

you are probably getting the best out of your reel seeing as it is NOT a casting reel mate, yes bearings have a lot to do with it,as does a level wind.if you want more distance i am afraid you will have to buy another reel such as an ABU Mag Elite or a Penn 525 Supermag.no matter what oil you use, rocket fuel etc aint going to get you any further,it will speed your reel up and probably lead to you getting birds nests |

If you do decide to take off the levelwind, be careful as some reels have to have a stabiliser post fitted in its place to stop the reel deforming. I know thats the case with my Abu so its probably worth checking before you go down that route. |
