Make sure she has plenty of space an a nice even surface so she doesnt have to worry about footwork. A beach would be better than a rockmark, nice clean sea bed so she doesnt get disheartened by snags.
It would probably be wise to start her of on a 4 ounce lead aswell
How long is the rod she will be using, the shorter the better to start with (imho). Also get her to visualize a target to aim at.

If she can cast lures she will be fine, and a 12 foot rod shouldnt overbalance her, good luck with teaching her, my lad is only seven so I only let him float fish with an eight foot stalking rod, he isnt ready for a bigger rod yet, and his casting distance would only land him in the snaggs every time, so when the weather is good and he is interested I let him work away with the float. the little pollack, mackerel and wrasse he catches are great sport for him on the 8tf rod. |
