hi everyone.
im 19, from a town called Axminster and love any type of fishing. joined this site to get some help with my sea fishing technique etc as im fairly new, how ever (as my name suggests) i am pretty apt at catching dog fish, but had some bass and rays too. i use a shakespeare Pro power 3 piece 13ft beachcaster and fish from beaches including seaton, charmouth lyme and as fair as Abbotsbury, wish us luck on our trip out there on Friday for our first cod outing....lets hope i can get my cast out to 75-100 yards any quick tips would be appreciated
thanks |

well as im sure it was in the rest of the country, down here it was windy as hell and rained alot of the day, so abbottsbury was out of the question along with most of chesil beach. so we decided to fish of the north wall at Lyme Regis and between three we ended with 5 dog fish 3 pout, and a rod rest forvever lost to the sea...good job it was a home made one
we also had to leave early as we nearly got stranded on the wall as the harbour water and the beach water came together....... luckily for some i had wellies on, so had to carry everyone across and i still got wet |

When you come to Abbotsbury you don't need to go further than forty-fifty yards, it is a 1 in three drop from the beach.
West Bexington (also chesil beach but 9 miles further west) is at most 75 yards.
