Hi guys! Just been given one of those live bait traps that claim to allow you to easily catch live bait like shrimp/ crab/ crayfish/ lobster/ eel etc! It's true name is a Creel! Has anyone used one of these things before and if so, are they worth using or would i be wasting my time? Cheers...HB |

I use one in a carp lake I fish for the Crayfish! Catches loads, well tasty boiled and covered in garlic butter. Chop the shells and left overs into my spod mix, works a treat! |

Hi I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago, it has a zip pouch on it for the bait, I just put a small squid in it dropped over the side of my little boat in the Marina, left it for a couple of days. Me and my lad went up last weekend half expecting it to be empty, but it was full of crab of all sizes, some of them 4 - 5 inches across the body and loads of them at 1 - 2 inches.
We let them go as we were not able to get out to fish due to the weather last week , but in future we will put one down the day before we want to fish - they definitely work |
