I use an Abu Transmitter Pro Bass rod 11ft 6 rated to 3oz and have found it to be great. I use an Abu Cardinal Reel with it one spool has 30lb braid the other 10lb mono. |

Bought a Firefly Bass Rod earlier this year. Comes in three pieces for ease of transport, good thick carbon,SiC rings, a tad over 12 ft and around £55. I can cast a 4 oz sinker with bait a good 100 yds with it but it is light and slim enough to be used for spinning if you want. |

Thanks for the advice, I've still got my eye on the conoflex rods. How do you think they would pair up with a slosh 30? |

dont know much about the rod but if its a Bass or flattie rod the slosh 30 might be a bit much for it.
the idea for a Bass rod is that its light and can be held for long preiods but also that its light enough that you can feel the fish comming in. the slosh 30 would have the fish pulled in before you know it.
a nice small multiplier like an abu 6500 mag elite or a penn 525 would be nice on a Bass rod. their a bit pricey new but can be gotten cheap enough 2nd hand on ebay.
i have a zziplex powertex bass and an abu mag elite(green) and i love the pairing. i got the abu for free and got the zziplex for €70 so there are bargains out there if you look hard enough. |

Don't know if you rate Shakespeare gear or not but the 'salt' range in my opinion is good iv'e two of their Bass rods and have paired them up with Okuma 'interceptor and Longbow' bait runners, they are sensative and responsive but most importantly light, the finish on them is top drawer well worth the dough.
JOLI PS another option if you prefer a multiplier is a 6 shooter bait caster iv'e used that on one of my Bass rods on occasions |

Cheers fozzy, am a bit gutted in a way there was a pair of rods on ebay that ended last weekend and a think the 200 was one of the rods, with a greys shadow, they went for about a ton, with I had done in but this months a long oe for me 5 weeker and bottled it... One of me fishin pals loves his flattie fanatic, its an old model but it's stil a class rod, he loves it and wouldnt give it up, he uses it fr everything, it loks about 15 year old. He seems to have mastered the cast and can bash leads right out at the beach with it, A NEED ONE !! ha ha .. the search continues!! |
