Also i no the winter cod come in at around the end of september but does anyone no a better date when its best to fish off of Spurn?

Thanx Dev big grin

I fish with Roy quite alot and would say that anywhere along Spurn Rd you can catch Cod but there are certain areas that are rougher ground than others (mainly past lighthouse towards Humber entrance) so be prepared to lose gear if fishing there.

Weather, Tide etc will all determine catching Cod but as a rule after the first frost and then the season will start.

Bait can be Lug, Blacks, Yellow Tails, Squid, Peeler - my PB of 5lb came on a cocktail of Peeler, Lug and Squid and that was in May but mainly fish with Squid & Lug cocktail.

Try between Poles 36 - 44, these were popular marks last winter but make sure the tide, wind and weather is right, as Roy has said Southerly's are a NO NO!
