where is the best place to fish for mackerel from the shore or harbour in the north east of scotland? also what is the best way of catching them? |

Mackerel are scrce from the shore his year.
Best places are usually breakwaters/piers over high tides.
Fishing with a string of feathers/lures normally does the trick.
Most rock marks are usually ok for mackies but this year has been poor.
Bass are rarer on the East coast, Peterhead power station outlet is good, some beaches have the odd bass, Elliot beach in Arbroath being one of the better ones.
Some of the Fife rock marks, particularly St Andrews look really promising but personally haven`t fished for Bass there.
