heya everyone, ive had an idea for a rig, iive replaced my sinker with a spinner, wadya you guys think? will it work or not? heres a pic of it that i drew up, its drawn on paint though so expect the worst drawing youve ever seen winking Image[/img]

I dont think a spinner would give you enough weight to cast .What I have used here and in Norway is to use a pirk as they can be purchased with differnet weights ..Had schoolies and macks so far this way .In Norways had cod on pirk and pollack/macks on feathers ..So it does work .. )))))

and the spinners i use are a good weight for casting happy

It would be a good setup trolling from a boat prividing you get the spinner of the correct weight, either that or incorperate a weight above the spinner so as to keep it down.

A " wedge" type of spinner might carry enough weight for the purpose

True rabbi that's where a pirk would keep it down deeper with the more weight ... YEP it works !!!!!..let us all know how you get on ...

ah oright, so i need a relatively heavier spinner. would this work from piers?

For sure you don't need to cast a great distance from a pier

i normally use a plain one like this happy Image[/url] its suprising how much weight it has though.

Always worth giving it a go you never know ... I spose it is like the pirk chasing small fry then hopefully along comes a bigger one to take the pirk lol

all im thinking is, if youve got feathers AND a spinner, your twice as likely to get a fish haha. crossed fingers though winking


btw, do you find the colour of your spinner makes much difference to the bites you get?
