Has the same down by the old sh*te pipe opposite the old naval base in Eastney.

Happily fishing away, when something like a dog head pops out the water with a 4ft long eel in it's mouth.

Anyhow shouted to some other anglers to confirm what I was seeing (had a few beers by then) - sure enough it was a bloody great seal.

That was first week of August, 28 deg in the shade, and the air turned blue when all the other anglers saw it

we've had a colony of seals based in the Thames off Southend for a few years now. THey may spoil a trip, but on the bright side if seals can live where you're fishing there must be plenty of fish availble big grin

I fish the fylde coast, blackpool , and about two weeks ago i was fishing one sunday and i am not lying but i saw 3 seals at the same time, it seemed as if they were just playing around and just having a good time with each other.

neadless to say there was not one single fish caught, but as another member said if there are seals around there must be plenty of fish about and our water must be improving vastly, and there has also been a few reports of the boat anglers that a school of pourpus has seen about 3 miles of shore. Our water MUST be getting cleaner and warmer.
