what material would you use for a breadfly targeting mullet.ive been advice to use bleached deers hair, also whilst on the fly building topic would deer hair be good for crab patterns. just a thought for nxt year.imagine smut on the fly at sandy point,if they can bump into bassfly there must be a chance.ideas sinking line with a crab pattern hard on the bottom slow retrive ,result 3-4lb hound .iam bored ,tightlines mick |

From what I've read on this subject, white foam is often used. But to fish effectively you need to groundbait with mashed bread too. I can't speak from experience however. My only attempt at the mullet, which always seem more numerous than bass, has been with a small black fly, to no avail. -Nigel |

A bit of white rabbit skin tied zonker style might be worth a try. It could be good as a slow sinker. |

Hi Mick. Rovers in Fareham sell artificial bread for carp fishing, in small packets. It is very realistic and works fine on Mullet, especially if you have 'fed' the water. A small bait holder hook keeps the bread in place, or you can use super glue to stop it moving on the hook.
